PTIG BOARD OF DIRECTORS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE UPDATE

Effective January 2012, there is one change in the Board of Directors for the Project 25 Technology Interest Group (PTIG).  John Facella formerly with Harris Corporation has stepped down from the board, having recently changed his employment to another company that currently has no affiliation with PTIG.  We are confident that John will continue to support P25 and PTIG activities in his new role.   We thank John for his past contributions and participation and wish him continued success in his new assignments.

Nominations for a replacement candidate into the Board of Directors will be considered by the ad hoc nominating committee within PTIG.  Until such time the Executive Committee continues with the remaining members.  The current Board of Directors are identified on our website under the category of "Organization".

Additional Information for P25 Digital Audio Performance Evaluations.

The continuing interest and confusion and diverse opinions about P25 audio quality will always benefit from more information at all levels.

A link in our PTIG website will now take you to information published at the DVSI website for an extensive report on vocoder evaluation results. Although published by DVSI several years ago, this information is available to all the manufacturers and universally applicable to P25 and other digital radio technologies. This report is more extensive than a basic summary to the layman, but provides information to the technical experts on results of the advances made.

You will find this report linked and referenced in our website under the category of Other Documents of Interest.

Additionally, the System Task Group (STG) Audio Performance Working Group (APWG) under APIC has also been working on a P25 Audio Performance report. PTIG will continue to monitor this activity and provide updates and article entries made avaiable. A status report on P25 Audio Performance Testing was issued by that task group in October, 2010 and was previously posted on the PTIG website under Other Documents of Interest.
