DHS OEC Publishes Public Safety Communications Evolution Brochure
The DHS OEC recently published, in November 2011, an updated brochure expanding upon their long standing leadership in support of public safety radio systems and interoperability. The information in this brochure addresses the future planning and system intersections anticipated for emergency communications policy issues for shared use of public systems and commercial broad band networks by critical communications users.
These references are important for our PTIG Membership to reflect upon also from the perspective of maintaining and continuing day to day critical communications LMR systems into the future. Project 25 capabilities have successfully introduced the fundamental elements for improving interoperability in today's networks. The emerging technologies referenced also are expected to align with those essential capabilities and avoid creating again the lamentable legacy of fragmented networks and non-compatible systems.
The brochure and the introduction public announcement are published at the DHS OEC Website, referenced below for your ease of access. The related OEC Websites referenced contain an additional body of documents valuable for Project 25 and interoperability planners.
We suggest you visit the site, download the brochure, and take a few minutes to read and reflect upon the significance of the system attributes for shared systems that OEC is referencing for the future. We are sure you will find a refreshing similarity to the fundamental attributes we are enabling with Project 25 capabilities today.
