Project 25 Revealed
A Concise Overview of Project 25 Standards, Capabilities, & Applications in simple basic terms
This panel will offer a concise overview and description of the Project 25 Standards, Capabilities, and Applications in simple laymen's terms. The panel is designed for those APCO telecommunicators who are new to Public Safety Communications and those who come from an IT or network background and want to learn more about LMR and P25 radio technology. How P25 facilitates the management of radio users by the telecommunicator will be explained by an experienced P25 System Administrator. The current P25 Systems Model will be explored. The alphabet soup of P25 terminology will be explained along with the various P25 Interfaces: ISSI, CSSI, DFSI, CAI. Interoperability using these P25 Interfaces will be covered from two perspectives: Multi agency sharing for mutual aid as well as multi-vendor product and service offerings. A snapshot of what lies ahead for the P25 Standards including LTE interworking and Communications Security will be shared. A comprehensive list of P25 resources including: News sources, update reports, tools, databases, and testing documents will be presented. In addition, time will be reserved for questions to the panel of P25 experts.
